Three Biblical Prayers: Reminders of God’s Perfect, Unconditional & All-encompassing Love

God is my Refuge

I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy.

I pour out my complaint; before him I tell my trouble.

When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who watch over my way.

In the path where I walk people have hidden a snare for me.

Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me.

I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.

I cry to you, LORD; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”

Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me.

Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name.

Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me. – Psalms 142

The Shepherd’s Psalm

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures,

He leads me beside the still waters.

He restores my soul

He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; they rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Amen. – Psalms 23

The Savior’s Promise

Let not your heart be troubled.

You believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father’s house are many mansions.

If it were not so, I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go to prepare a place for you,

I will come again, and receive you unto myself; so that where I am,

there you may also be. – John 14:1-3
